Gaston College beach volleyball extends winning streak to school-record four straight matches on Friday

Gaston College's beach volleyball team took a a pair of Region 10 victories during this weekend's four-match event it is hosting at the school's on-campus facility.

In Friday's opener, the Rhinos knocked off Sandhills Community College 3-2, then closed Friday's action with a 3-2 win over Spartanburg Methodist.

The victories extended the Rhinos winning streak to a school-record four matches while improving Gaston College to 6-12 overall and 4-2 in Region 10.

In the opener, the pairs of Naomi Hilliard and Maddie Dearing (17-21, 21-10, 16-14), Cristina Rotola and Valentina Rodriguez (21-10, 21-17) and Milica Gavric and Bianca Bowland (21-14, 21-16) picked up victories.

In the nightcap, the pairs of Gavric and Bowland (21-15, 21-15), Leilani Nolasco and Millea Styles (21-18, 14-21, 15-13) and Carli Phillips and Millea Styles (forfeit) picked up victories.

The two-day, five-match concludes with Saturday's noon match against Lynchburg College.
