Gaston College summer athletic series set to begin

With Gaston College's 2023-24 athletic season now completed, the school continues showing undeniable growth and success as we wrap up the year's achievements.

Beginning later this week, we'll start wrapping up the school's five sports seasons - women's cross country, men's basketball, beach volleyball, softball and baseball.

Next month, we'll do stories on some of three of the personalities that have helped shape the program - or will shape it in the future - as we look at the extraordinary work that has been done by Gaston College athletic trainer Al Shuford, the voice of the Rhinos the last two years on the school's broadcast network Justin Olmsted and the longtime relationship new Gaston College basketball coach Benny Moss has with legendary local college coach Bobby Lutz.

And later this summer, we'll count down the top 10 moments in Gaston College's 2023-24 athletic season with each sport accounting for two moments apiece.
