Top moments of 2023-24: No. 9 - Beach volleyball has winning league record, hosts Region 10 championship tournament

In its third year as a program and second year competing for Region 10 and National Junior College Athletic Association titles, Gaston College's beach volleyball program finished second in its regular season race and third in the Region 10 finals the school hosted at its on-campus facility.

"We're obviously very disappointed by not advancing to the championship game," Gaston College coach Rachel Noreika said. "It was still a good finish and great conference regular season finish. And I'm very pleased with how we bounced back against Spartanburg."

The Rhinos, whose schedule included 18 matchups against four-year schools, went 5-3 in Region 10 regular season matchups before going 1-1 in Region 10 championship tournament capped by a 3-0 consolation match victory over Spartanburg Methodist that qualified the Rhinos for the NJCAA national tournament.

Sophomore Cristina Rotola and freshman Valentina Rodriguez emerged as the top pairing with 15 overall victories.

They were followed by the pairing of sophomore Naomi Hilliard and freshman Maddie Dearing, who recorded 11 wins.
