All-American honors for Gaston College's Seth Christmas
For the third straight season since restarting its program, Gaston College has an All-American baseball player.
Sophomore catcher Seth Christmas was named honorable mention All-American by the National Scouting Bureau on Monday.
A 2022 Hopewell High graduate from Charlotte, Christmas was an All-Region 10 selection this past season after leading the Rhinos is batting average (.381) and RBIs (76) and was second in home runs (12).
Christmas helped Gaston College to a 51-8 overall record and the first No. 1 ranking in any sport in school history.
A member of the 50-13 National Junior College World Series team in 2023, Christmas finished his Rhinos' career second in career RBIs (93), third in career hits (99) and fourth in career home runs (13).
A Liberty University commitment in April, Christmas becomes the fourth All-American in school history.
In 2022, outfielder-pitcher Konni Durschlag was a third team selection by thejbb.net. And in 2023, infielder Adam Quintero was an honorable mention selection by the NJCAA and pitcher David Sande was a second team selection by thejbb.net.
