Bio
Steuerwald has 20 years of softball coaching experience and has found success with the Rhinos earning back-to-back Region 10 championships and being named the NJCAA Region 10 Softball Coach of the Year in 2023.
A four-year baseball standout at Maranatha Baptist College who also played two years of football, he began his softball coaching career at Waterloo and Watertown high schools in Wisconsin before becoming a baseball assistant at Rockford College in 2007.
He was a head coach for the Chicago Bandits and Scrap Yard Dawgs women's professional softball teams and a five-time National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) champion. At Chicago, Steuerwald coached legendary Olympic pitcher Jennie Finch and the hurler who has thrown the fastest pitch in women's softball history, Monica Abbott (77 mph). He has also held various college softball coaching positions, including head coach at Cuesta College of San Luis Obispo, Cal. and assistant coach at Elon, Utah Valley and Syracuse. As a Team USA assistant coach, Steuerwald coached 22 Olympians at the Tokyo Olympics.
